You must contact the information desk with two documents proving your identity (passport, ID card, residence permit, or refugee certificate) for both the deceased and the person collecting the death certificate. It is recommended to call the information desk in advance (+375173967680) to confirm the optimal time for your arrival (especially if an autopsy is scheduled).
Weekday opening hours: 8:30 AM - 4:45 PM. To obtain a medical certificate of death and to sign funeral service contracts, please contact us between 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday-Saturday) and 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Sunday and holidays). Collection of clothing for preparing bodies for collection: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM (daily).
The decision to conduct a postmortem examination is made by the administration of the medical facility where the patient died. The pathology bureau is merely the executor of this decision and is NOT authorized to schedule or cancel a postmortem examination.
According to Article 32 of Chapter 6 of the Law “On Healthcare”, mandatory pathological autopsy is carried out in the event of:
- infectious diseases or suspected infectious diseases, with the exception of verified active tuberculosis and the presence of the human immunodeficiency virus;
- unclear diagnosis of the disease that resulted in death;
- death during and after surgery, blood transfusions, blood components, anaphylactic shock, or instrumental examinations;
- stillbirths and deaths of children under one year of age;
- deaths of pregnant women, women in labor, and women in childbirth;
- inpatient stays in healthcare facilities of less than one day;
- conflict situations during the provision of medical care.
